Our story

Founder
One hand, one vision: Aymeric Perrot
I'm Aymeric Perrot, an engineer by training and a passionate cook. The idea for ETCH stemmed from a simple observation: everyone owns knives, but very few know the brand. This gap in knowledge led me to create a recognizable, understated, sustainable brand, rooted in France. I wanted to design useful knives, built to last, and crafted with exacting standards. A brand where every detail matters, where industrial precision meets artisanal skill. Just like in cooking, I believe in mastery, respect for technique, and the elegance of lasting quality.

ETCH
A sharp, cutting sound
ETCH , from the English verb etch —to engrave—evokes an irreversible act, without possibility of error. To engrave is to decide that the object will last. It is also the image of a blade slicing through the air. This word defines us: each ETCH knife is designed to last, with exacting standards, without compromise, to leave a lasting mark on the hand, on use, on everyday life.

Objective
Restoring the knife to its place of honor
Two questions sparked the idea for ETCH: Do you own any knives? — Yes. Could you tell me their brand? — No. This lack of connection intrigued us. At ETCH, we restore the knife to its rightful place: a visible, durable, and timeless object. Conceived in Paris, forged in Thiers, and crafted in Brittany, our company gives the knife what it deserves: a soul, a signature, a true presence in your kitchen.

Philosophy
A living and demanding French know-how
We didn't invent anything. We simply picked up where a solid and discreet French craftsmanship left off. In Thiers, our blades are cut, assembled, and sharpened by renowned cutlers. In Brittany, cherry wood is meticulously worked. In Paris, we design a simple and enduring line. Each piece unites these skills with exacting standards, precision, and consistency.

Choice
Fair choices, designed to last
Every detail has been chosen for its function: the Nitrox steel, hardened to 58 HRC, guarantees a long-lasting, easy-to-maintain edge. The round cherry wood handle, varnished twice, offers comfort, grip, and balance. With no visible rivets, the lines are clean, inspired by Japanese knives. Our tools are not replaced. They are used, sharpened, and passed down—for 50 years or more.

Commitment
Our commitment: clarity, high standards, longevity
We make promises we can keep: French manufacturing, a 50-year guarantee, free delivery, 30-day returns, protective packaging, and secure payment. Nothing superfluous. ETCH doesn't sell: it illuminates. It supports you with the same exacting standards you apply to your cooking.
